Breast Reconstruction: Case 1 - DIEP flaps after Oncoplastic reduction for Nipple Sparing result
Description
This 50 year old woman had breast reconstruction by Dr. Linville, first with an oncoplastic reduction to get the nipple up into the correct position and to reduce her breast size (and remove her tumor). Then she had her completion nipple-sparing mastectomies, followed by bilateral DIEP flap breast reconstruction. She later had a revision and fat grafting on both sides. Her result is a good example of actually looking better after her reconstruction and mastectomies than she did before. The staging of the reduction, which elevates the NAC and allows for nipple-sparing mastectomies, gives her an extremely nice, natural result, with a lifted appearance, that resembles a mommy makeover, and leaves no "tell-tell" signs of ever having breast cancer.
